Voltage Control: Trusting the Path

I recently wrote a piece for Voltage Control about my journey into facilitation, and I wanted to share it here too.

For years, my partner Mauricio and I ran leadership training programs through EXEC Consulting. The workshops were effective, but I kept noticing something. Whenever we included a moment of self-reflection or encouraged participants to share insights with a partner, the room came alive. That observation became my entry point into facilitation.

I found Voltage Control through an online search, attended a free meetup, and eventually enrolled in their certification program. One of the most important things I heard during that process came from my coach, Erik: “Don’t conform. Your uniqueness is your strength.” That permission to stay authentic shifted how I approach my work. I’d spent a long time conforming to professional expectations, and hearing that was a turning point.

Through the certification, I built out my own framework and started applying facilitation everywhere. I’ve led cultural learning experiences combining movement and reflection, facilitated emotionally intense strategic gatherings for nonprofits, and run trust-building workshops for corporate teams. Each gathering adds another layer of confidence and another opportunity to try something new.

The full article goes deeper into each of these stories and what I’ve learned about voice, vulnerability, and space-making along the way.
