Communicate with Cultural Intelligence

When a team spans a lot of countries, people stop reading each other accurately. Nobody is doing anything wrong. They are reading the same behaviour against different defaults, and the misunderstandings pile up quietly.

This session is built on Erin Meyer's The Culture Map. She maps cultures on eight scales, and I focus on the three that are about communication, because those are the ones that break relationships first. The core idea people take away is that position on any scale is relative, and that culture sets a range rather than a script.

Delivered for a large multinational, with around twenty people and at least ten nationalities in the room.

Rewriting the stories you tell yourself

Most of us are running on a script we never chose and have never questioned. It shapes how we lead, how we take feedback, and what we believe is available to us.

I take groups through my L.O.V.E. Framework: Look Within, Observe and Own your stories, Voice and Verify new ones, then Evolve the practice. It is about reclaiming authorship over your own inner dialogue, and it works as well with a leadership team as it does with an audience.

The same framework I use in my one-to-one coaching and team workshops.

Leadership teams

Groups inside organisations who work across borders, or who simply are not communicating as well as they could be. Sessions are interactive and built around the room, not delivered at it.

Facilitators and practitioners

People who run rooms for a living and want to get better at it. I host Facilitation Lab Austin monthly, and I speak to this crowd in their own language.

Coaches, entrepreneurs and change-makers

Audiences at the point of building something. This is the group I run Ignite for, and the self-love work tends to land hardest here.
